The state government decided to transfer this initiative into a new scheme. This scheme is
called Mukta Yojana. Through this scheme, numerous projects will be provided to urban local
bodies so that they can earn money for running their livelihood.There are many activities like stormwater drainage, rainwater harvesting, green cover,increased sanitation,creation of community centres, etc under this scheme. The state government has allocated the funds from its own budget.
Now, this temporary employment initiative will be converted into a full-fledged scheme called Mukta Yojana. Under this initiative more than 6000 projects have been completed with the expenditure of 70 crores and 13 lac person-days was generated. Around 3.5 lacs workers have got the benefit of this initiative out of the 3.5 lac workers 40% were women.
